THE “INDIANA JONES” JUNGLE TRIFECTA!

CAVE TUBING, ZIP LINE & MAYAN RUIN ADVENTURE!

This amazing three-in-one combo tour is our most popular mainland jungle adventure! It’s a full day of fun, combining an incredible visit to ancient Mayan pyramids with a zip line adrenaline rush, followed by a once-in-a-lifetime cave tubing river float into the Mayan underworld!

Your day begins with an early departure to Belize City. Choose from either a quick 15-minute flight or a relaxing journey by water taxi. Upon arrival in the city, you’ll be met by your professional licensed tour guide and head off on a comfortable van ride to Xunantunich, located in western Belize near the Guatemalan border. This scenic road trip takes approximately 90 minutes each way and your guide will have plenty of icy cold beverages to enjoy throughout the day.

Upon arrival at Xunantunich, you’ll cross the Mopan River on a hand-cranked ferry, followed by a short jungle hike to the Maya site. There, you’ll be led on a wonderful and informative tour of the ruins, exploring the extensive remnants of this intriguing ancient site.

The highlight of the ruin is El Castillo, the second tallest pyramid in Belize, offering incredible views over the surrounding rainforest and all the way across the border to Guatemala. Wear your climbing shoes because this is one of the last Mayan sites in the world that allows travelers to explore them up close and personal and enjoy the views from the top of an ancient Mayan pyramid.

Xunantunich is also known for sightings of the “Stone Woman”, an ancient Mayan ghost that has been seen inhabiting the site since it was first discovered in the late 19th Century. She appears dressed completely in white, and has fire-red glowing eyes. She usually appears in front of El Castillo, ascends the stone stairs up to the temple and disappears into a stone wall. All of this mystery combined with Xunantunich’s tropical forest and resident troupe of Howler monkeys makes this an experience right out of an adventure movie!

After a relaxing Belizean style lunch, you’re off to another jungle adventure where you’ll soar over the rainforest canopy on the zip line course located in the nearby Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve. This lush rainforest is teaming with monkeys, tropical birds and all sorts of exotic wildlife. It’s a wild time in the wild!

Next, you’ll get changed into your swim gear and begin a short jungle trek to the entrance of the caves. Hidden in the depths of the rainforest, this network of ancient Mayan caverns is only accessible by floating down a crystal clear jungle river. Your guide will get you comfortably seated in your innertubes and geared up with LED headlamps so you can see the mystical crystal formations as you drift in and out of the caves known as “Xibalba” or the mysterious Mayan underworld!

With the day’s adventure complete, you’ll sip on some refreshing drinks and enjoy a relaxing ride back to Belize City where you’ll catch your flight or water taxi back to the Island.

Your tour includes everything!: Transportation to and from the island, mainland transportation to all sites, professional tour guide, equipment rentals, park entrance fees, Belizean style lunch and cold drinks throughout the day.

We always recommend choosing the short flight instead of the water taxi for your mode of transportation to and from the mainland. The flight saves you close to 3 hours of extra travel time!

THE ULTIMATE MAYAN UNDERWORlD “ATM” CAVE ADVENTURE!

This is the excursion for true adventure seekers! The extensive ATM cave system in Belize contains some of the most intriguing evidence of the human sacrificial ceremonies of the Maya. In fact, the cave is believed to be one of the most important sites in the world; filled with folklore, mystery, and skeletons! Where most ancient ruins in the world of this type would be roped off and accessible only by archaeologists, the Actun Tunichil Muknal cave is a living museum that invites visitors into the realm of “Xibalba” (the Mayan underworld) freely — if they dare. You’ll be Harrison Ford for the day in this real life archaeological expedition!

Your adventure begins with an early departure to Belize City. Choose from either a quick 15-minute flight or a relaxing journey by water taxi. Upon arrival in the city, you’ll be met by your professional licensed tour guide and head off on a comfortable van ride to the ATM caves, located in the western Cayo region of Belize. This scenic road trip takes approximately 90 minutes each way and your guide will have plenty of icy cold beverages to enjoy throughout the day.

Upon your arrival, you will change into your swimming gear—there are modern rest rooms/changing facilities on site. Make sure you pack socks and water shoes—only socks can be worn inside the cave to help preserve this delicate and important archeological site.
Now the real fun begins as you forge not 1 but 3 different jungle rivers to access the remote ATM cave site. Keep in mind that this tour is not for faint of heart!

Once you reach the cave entrance, you’ll need to swim across a beautiful, crystal clear pool and into the cave (life vests are provided for guests that feel more comfortable with a floatation device). It’s a truly magical experience!
The interior of the cave is surprisingly spacious, with huge caverns throughout  that are partially open to the jungle (so claustrophobics can relax)! You’ll need to use care around the numerous skeletal remains and artifacts that you will encounter throughout the cave. These relics serve as evidence of the relentless sacrificial ceremonies of the Maya. Many of these artifacts have been well-preserved thanks to the dark and cool cave climate. One of the most prominent sets of remains is of the Crystal Maiden, the skeleton of an 18-year-old girl, possibly a sacrifice victim, who lies forever crystallized to the cave floor. You will also see areas of the cave that the Maya have modified as altars for offerings, or to form silhouettes of faces or animals. There are several pottery remains that are significant because they were marked with “kill holes” indicating that they were once filled with blood used for sacrifices. Wildlife inside the cave includes bats, crayfish, catfish, crabs, spiders, and the occasional four-legged agouti, among other rainforest visitors.

Once your cave tour has been completed, you’ll swim back across the pool and begin the exciting hike back to the dressing rooms where you’ll be able to change and enjoy a delicious Belizean style buffet, watching the Howler monkeys play in the surrounding jungle. Then it’s back on the road with some refreshing drinks and a relaxing ride back to Belize City where you’ll catch your flight or water taxi back to the Island.

Your tour includes everything!: Transportation to and from the island, mainland transportation to the site, professional tour guide, equipment rentals, park entrance fees, Belizean style lunch and cold drinks throughout the day.

We always recommend choosing the short flight instead of the water taxi for your mode of transportation to and from the mainland. The flight saves you close to 3 hours of extra travel time!

It combines a thrilling high-speed power boat ride through a winding jungle river, with a visit to the most beautiful Mayan archaeological site in the country. If you have a “need for speed”, then this is the tour for you!

Once you arrive at the boat launch, you’ll climb aboard a comfortable power boat for an exciting cruise up the winding New River. This beautiful waterway is teaming with wildlife. Your captain and guide will make several stops along the way to view tropical birds, exotic jungle orchids and, of course, crocodiles! Lamanai is the Mayan word for “submerged crocodile”, so the site is appropriately named for the river it borders.

Upon your arrival at the site, your tour guide will lead you on an in-depth exploration of the ruins. Boasting some of the most intricate and beautiful stone work of any of the ancient Mayan sites, a visit to Lamanai is on the bucket list of every Mayan enthusiast.

Excursions Were Awesome!

We first went on the wave runner tour to Secret Beach. Kevin and Brandon took us to Secret Beach and they were absolutely perfect!! Kevin and Brandon are excellent host and they took care of us the whole trip. Part of the incredible experience is cruising thru the mangroves on your way to the crystal blue waters of Secret Beach. The waters on the way to Secret Beach are very calm and allow you to fly on your wave runner!!! It was a blast.
